11/28/11

Hi mom and everyone else! the mission is going good but i dont have much time so excuse me if my english is lacking. this week was good! we had an awesome thanksgiving and i will hopefully send pictures soon when things die down but for now i cant. this week will be transfers and i found out that i am being transferred to Grants Pass which is about a 7 hr drive. although it is 7 hours it should be longer for me because we have to swing by Eugene. i dont know i will talk more about that next week. it will be sad to leave Prineville (ps if anyone happened to send me mail i am sorry but i havent recieved anything yet and it might be a while till i get back to you due to transfers). the past few days we have been trying to wrap up things with our investigators and some members. (i will send pictures of that too). while we were out and about doing this a drunk guy and girl came up to us and wanted to hear our message. the girl said that her half brothers were going to missionaries so she wanted to talk to us. every time we started to talk the man would try and debate with us about how Jesus was a Jew. in his words: "Jesus was a Jew, He wasn't a Jehovahs Witness, he wasn't a Christian, he was a Jew!" every time he said that we tried to tell him what he was saying and that Christian comes from Christ. It was actually really funny because he made absolutely no sense because he was super drunk. he also kept on asking for out watches and stuff. Anyways i have to go! I love you all and i really enjoy the emails everyone has sent. they mean a lot and i hope you all write me and tell me how you are all doing.

11/21/11 Letter from Nate.

The mission is going pretty good. We basically tracted our entire side of town so we are trying and think of other things that we can do to get investigators. It's weird to think that i have been on my mission for over a month! this Saturday we find out in we are going to be transferred to a different area. it is actually way more nerve wrecking then i thought it would be. we finally started getting families that want to hear the discussions but if we leave we wont be able to teach them. oh well the Lord knows best and if he needs us somewhere else then so be it. i cant really think of anything really new to talk about. um... we went to the ward thanksgiving party and it was actually really fun. so far i have had two thanksgivings and we are having another tonight and two more on thanksgiving day. we have also had a ton of chili. at one time i had chili three days in a row. earlier this week we went on exchanges and i went to Redmond to work with Elder Killian. It was awesome. i never realized how much busier other places are until i went to work with Elder Killian for a day. i think that is whats hard about being in a small town. its really hard to find a lot of real busy work with investigators or potentials. most of the work that we do here seems to be less actives and member work. this week we went to burn slash piles with the youth and it was actually pretty awesome. i would send pictures but my companion hasnt uploaded them so i cant. anyway i am out of time and dont have much else to share. love you all tons and hope you all write me back! sincerely Elder Berg

November 14th, 2011

Nate had a rough week, feeling quite ill. He also said that most of their return appointments cancelled, so it was a rough week. He sent a short note to mom in regard to finding a doctor.

November 7th Letter

Sorry everyone but I don't really have much to report this week. This week we had a slow week. we did get a new investigator that seems very interested in what we have to say. He has a family and seems very close with them. It started to get really cold around here and even began to snow. We had the nice opportunity to ride our bikes though the snowfall on the way to church. which reminds me i popped my tire the other day and i need to fix it. well thats about all that is going in the town of Prineville. I love you all and hope you are all doing well.
Love Elder Berg
